What some are saying about TANGOPRANA
From Nancy
...That evening, after your class, I went to a Milonga, and by staying focused on posture and incorporating your breathing techniques, I was more focused on the dance, music, and partnership in dance, than I have ever before been.

.....Also, I'd like to add, your beginner dancers, after being exposed so specifically to good posture, have fallen into close embrace with great ease. I think you'd do the Eugene community a huge service by doing a series ...specifically on close embrace.

Here is very nice review appeared in TANGO TIMES by editor and seminar attendee Erika

I participated in Marisela Rizik’s Tango Prana seminar last Saturday and it was a truly transformative experience.

As a group we explored the psychological, physical, emotional, and musical elements of tango. Marisela also prepared a document outlining her observations and philosophy gleaned from her own personal experience, tango, yoga, and creative forces. We read her writings aloud together, commented on how they resonated within each of our own lives, and affirmed our commitment to ourselves in life and in tango. We also did actual tango dancing! After considering how life is composed of interconnected elements and distinguishing how tango needs to be in the present, in its own mental place, we each took the time to relearn how to physically and mentally commit and connect to our partner. I could write more, but my point is to encourage each member of our tango community to be open to trying this wonderful seminar, which I hope Marisela will offer again. You may also contact her directly for additional information or personal consultation. You may reach her at 485 6647 or email: Mrizik at aol dot com

WHAT IS TangoPrana?
My chosen name to honor the answer to a question that I have been searching for in my tango dancing. In other words, my personal creation of a technique that emphasizes breathing as a main component to connect more easily with yourself, your partner and the music.

HOW DID THIS CONCEPT DEVELOP?
Through a lot of observation of my own body,
Through countless hours of tango lessons and dancing,
Through my own frustration of dealing with esoteric terms such as the ubiquitous Center, the shifting axis, and the perfect embrace.
Through my desire to find a technique that I could access quickly on the dance floor.

WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM ?
I have studied different kinds of yoga since I was 15. In all the yoga I know the emphasis is on breathing. Upon rediscovering and incorporating breathing, I labeled it TangoPrana in honor of my early yoga training.

IS MY TECHNIQUE UNIQUE?
Unique, only insofar as it is the answer to my own search. From that perspective, TangoPrana is my creation .
As the law of physics goes, nothing is created or destroyed, only transformed. We go through life gathering information and then forming our unique approach to it.

Hope to share this new insight with some of you,
Marisela
